This room is equipped with a casting solution. Using your mobile device, you can cast content from a Google Cast compatible application to the TV following the instructions below.

1.

Connect to the main building WiFi and access the Internet. You must be logged in using room number and last name or using the unique user code provided upon your arrival.

Turn on the TV.

On your mobile device, open a Google Cast compatible application such as Netflix. Certain applications require a subscription to access their content.

Choose your content, locate the casting icon in your application and press it.

When prompted, select the Chromecast identified with your room number. The casting should begin momentarily. If not, manually switch inputs with the TV remote control until you see your content.

Troubleshooting

My application does not have a casting icon.

Try toggling your device's Wi-Fi off, then on again. If you still can't see the casting icon, make sure you are using the latest version of your application, and that your device has support for Google Cast. For example, Apple iTunes does not support Google Cast and will not work with this solution. Contact your application developer for more details.

My device is ready but is not being displayed on the TV.

Make sure the TV is turned on and is set to the correct HDMI input to display the content. You may have to cycle through a few inputs before finding the correct one.

When I try to cast, the list of devices remains empty.

Make sure you are connected to the correct building Wi-Fi network. Close your application, restart it and try again.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to download an application on my device?

No. As long as you already have one of the 300+ Google Cast compatible apps like Netflix or Spotify, you don't need to download anything else.

Do I need a subscription to access content?

That depends on the application you are using. If a subscription is required, the app will inform you. If you already have a subscription and it is already configured on your device, you should not have to provide your account information.

Do I need to log out of my account once I leave?

No, the Chromecast does not record your account information. A one-time "key" is exchanged between your mobile device and the Chromecast when you cast content, and it is automatically deleted once the content playback is stopped.

What devices are compatible?

All recent iOS and Android devices are compatible. Recent versions of Windows and macOS are also supported.
